2019 is set to be a great year for home decor. Let's say out with the old and in with the new trends coming for 2019. Here are a couple Sunrise's picks for what to look forward to going into the new year.
Let start this list off right! First up, Smart Home Integration.
Weather your a fan of Alexa, Google Home, or Siri smart home integration is coming up in a big way in 2019. CES 2019 showcased tons of new integrations from all three companies including tv's, security systems, lighting, appliances an more. Connecting your homes to these systems saves you both time and energy. All these systems can be customized to some degree to work with your daily routine. When you wake up in the morning you can simply say "Good Morning,____" and it will turn on your lights, start the coffee maker and soon even warm the shower for you. When leaving for work, it can lower your thermostat, lower the blinds and set your alarm system to active. 2019 is sure to bring even more growth in this industry.
Last year many tile companies debuted geometric tiles both in accent and larger formats. Well this year builders are embracing them! Going beyond just hexagons these include the reintroduction of larger square tiles, smaller herringbone and geometric painted tiles. But the geometric patterns don't stop there, this year also includes more geometric furniture and accessories. Some of these have taken on an Art Deco appearance with the return of brass but all are more minimal in appearance with less detail and more focus on the overall shape.
Maybe satin nickle and chrome or oil rubbed bronze and copper, mixed metals are still going to be a huge part of 2019. Gone are the days of trying to match all your metals. There are simply too many now! To get a great look its important to work with tones and overall style of the home. If you are going with rustic modern then mixing copper and oil rubbed bronze is a great way. Modern farmhouse would look great with pewter and brushed nickle. Keep a general style throughout and pick you accent pieces that will stand out.
